Wellbeing in Schools

Bringing calm, clarity and resilience into the classroom

Supporting children, young people, and educators to develop mindfulness skills for life

Peace of Mindfulness offers age‑appropriate, compassionate mindfulness programmes within schools and education settings. My work supports children, young people, and educators to develop practical skills that foster emotional regulation, self‑awareness, focus, and wellbeing.

Mindfulness is introduced in a gentle, accessible way – meeting pupils and staff where they are, and supporting skills that can be carried into learning, relationships, and everyday life.

Why mindfulness in schools?

Schools are busy, demanding environments - for pupils and staff alike. Mindfulness can support:

Emotional regulation and self awareness

Improved focus and attention

Reduced stress and anxiety

Greater compassion and empathy

A calmer, more supportive learning environment

By learning mindfulness skills early, children and young people develop tools they can draw on throughout their lives.

Who have I worked with?

I’ve been privileged to deliver mindfulness sessions and workshops at a range of schools, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from staff and students alike. Some of these are list here:

  • Aldersley High School
  • Wolverhampton Grammar School
  • St Peter’s Collegiate
  • Stuart Bathurst
  • Broadmeadow
  • Beacon Hill Academy
My work is grounded in compassion, professionalism, and real world application.

My Approach

Trauma aware and inclusive

Developmentally appropriate

Grounded in compassion and care

Practical and experiential

Mindfulness is taught as a skill that can be practised - not something children or staff need to perform or get “right”. Sessions are engaging, supportive, and adapted to the needs of each setting.

Why Choose Me?

My work in schools is grounded in real, lived experience. As a former pastoral Head of Year and Head of Department, I understand the day-to-day realities of improving behaviour, supporting attendance, and sustaining staff wellbeing. I’m deeply committed to helping schools create environments where pupils are more focused, emotionally regulated and ready to learn — and where staff feel supported, not stretched.

Alongside this experience, I’ve trained with the Mindfulness in Schools Project across different age groups, as well as with the Mindfulness Association, qualifying to deliver programmes for students, including sixth form, and for staff. This allows me to offer a practical, evidence-informed approach that supports positive behaviour, strengthens engagement and contributes to a healthier, more sustainable school culture.

Testimonials

Broadmeadow School
"Staff enjoyed Mindfulness workshops led by Pav as part of a well- being day. The sessions were relaxed and enjoyable, everyone was put at their ease and engaged as much or as little as they felt comfortable with. As a result some staff have started regular well being groups and others are pursuing mindfulness activities in their own time. It was fabulous to have a day where everyone was encouraged to think about looking after themselves- in our small school we are all so focused on supporting children, families and each other that we sometimes forget about ourselves. Many of us are now ‘dropping our attention into our feet’ as a result- thanks Pav"
GCSE student
"Mindfulness has made me feel less stressed, I know how to cope with anxious feelings and how to stay calm and relaxed."
Year 8 student
"It did feel a bit weird at first but I quickly became more relaxed, and my mind felt different in a good way!"
A Level student
"A Levels feel really intense at times, especially before assessments and exams so I wanted to try Mindfulness to see if it would help me with exam stress mainly- now I use it all the time and I wouldn’t have known how to practice it without Mrs Mahey."
Pastoral Head of Year 11 and Deputy Head of Safeguarding
"I have found the mindfulness course to be very useful for our Year 11 students who are revising and preparing for their Year 11 exams.Pav has been a wonderfully calming influence, and the students who have chosen to attend have appreciated the tips that can be put into place at a moment's notice."
Student at St Peter’s Collegiate
"This has really helped me with stress and other issues in my life. Each time I can to a session, I could feel myself becoming more and more able to bring myself down to a place of calm and chill"
Student at Stuart Bathurst
"I love coming to these sessions, they really help me loads and I feel like I am coping a lot more these days"
Teacher at Stuart Bathurst
